How long does it take?
Between 20 and 30 minutes, depending on where your hotel is located (the historic center, San Blas, and nearby areas are the most common destinations). It’s one of the shortest routes in our entire catalog — Cusco’s airport sits practically inside the city.
Why not just grab a taxi at the door?
You can, but there are two things to consider: taxi prices at the airport door are usually negotiated on the spot (and not always in your favor if it’s your first time in the city), and no one is waiting for you with your name on a sign. A note on altitude
Cusco sits at 3,400 meters above sea level. It’s common to feel the altitude change as soon as you step off the plane — shortness of breath while walking, a bit of dizziness. It’s not a cause for alarm, but it’s a good reason not to plan demanding activities on the same day you arrive.
