Traditional Sacred Valley vs. Super Sacred Valley (VIP): Which One to Choose?

By Cusco Transporte Team August 21, 2026 2 min read

The Sacred Valley has so many attractions — Pisac, Chinchero, Moray, the Maras Salt Mines, Ollantaytambo, Urubamba — that almost no agency visits all of them in a single day. We offer two different versions of the tour, with different stops, and choosing the right one changes quite a bit of what you’ll see.

Traditional Sacred Valley: the classic route

This is the most well-known route, focused on three main stops:

  • Pisac, with its artisan market and archaeological site overlooking the town.
  • Urubamba, the heart of the valley.
  • Ollantaytambo, with its Inca terraces and the oldest continuously inhabited town in South America (the original Inca urban layout is still lived in today).

It’s the ideal tour if you’d rather take your time at fewer stops instead of rushing between five.

Super Sacred Valley (VIP): the complete route

This version adds more stops to the same day:

  • Chinchero, an Andean village with a market and a colonial church built over an Inca temple.
  • Moray, the circular agricultural terraces.
  • Maras Salt Mines, the thousands of salt ponds.
  • Ollantaytambo and Pisac, same as the traditional version.

It’s more comprehensive, but also a longer day with more time in the vehicle between stops.

Which one should you choose?

If this is your only visit to the Sacred Valley and you want to make the most of the day, the VIP version makes more sense — the price difference is minimal compared to everything it adds. If you’d rather have a more relaxed pace, or you’ve already visited Moray and the Salt Mines on another tour, the Traditional version is more than enough.
